Faithful Fridays

I missed out last Friday on my Faithful Friday's post {first Friday of the month}, but my day job opened a new design studio in Atlanta last week and therefore I was preoccupied!  No worries - I still had time for a project, so come back Sunday to see our *new* interior doors and for a sneak peak of my home office!

Can you believe it's mid October?  We are just a few short weeks away from a presedential election, and I would like to take a brief moment away from DIY projects and recipes to remind you that if you can legally vote than it is not only your responsibility as a citizen, but also as a Christian to vote in this {and every} election.  Listen to this short broadcast if you question why you should take the time to vote: Why Should Christians Vote with Tony Evans.

Regardless of who you vote for it is an important liberty to exercise, and it is vital to know WHAT you are voting for as well.  Know where you stand on the key issues of national defense, the national debt, and the role of government in the economy, society, industry and healthcare.  Once you know how you feel about these issues it is easy to determine what each candiate believes about the same issues, and you can vote for who aligns the closest to your convictions.

If you are a big book reader, than I would recommend How Should We Then Live? The Rise and Decline of Western Thought and Culture.  This book by Francis Schaeffer chronicles the rise and fall of nations throughout history, and while published in 1976 provides a rather prophetic parrallel between the current state of our country and the Roman Empire.
