A Little Feature on Apartment Therapy

I know I have been MIA for some time now.  Things took off after my last post regarding that fun little boutique project.  Quite frankly, I'm becoming completely spoiled with this client & project.  It's an upper upscale hotel (yes, that is a real term), we are blending 1920's with French with old bank because the building was an old bank built in the 20's and the owner wants it Frenchy.  Oh, and the client likes everything I've done.  And there is no Brand to submit to and impose their standards and overworked design ideas.  Seriously.  I'm spoiled now.  What will I do when reality hits on my other projects?

Alas, I have neglected any projects for myself.  However, I may have the kick I need to get back into things.  Apartment Therapy mentioned my most successful project, my Nailhead & Marble Ikea Rast Hack.  I finally did find a little something purple to add that pop of color I wanted.

Guess how shocked I was when the Hubbs texted me a photo of a mid century modern table and chairs one Saturday afternoon.  I was curled up on the sofa feeling a bit under the weather.  He had been on a quest to find old watches, but ended up at a flea market in Alpharetta.  Enticed by the photo he sent, I managed to make my way over there.  Along with the 1950's dining set for $400 we returned home with this little fragment of amethyst colored quartz for $20.

I'm holding out on you though.  I will wait to unveil the tables and chairs when I finally complete the reupholstering.  I have removed fabric and foam from one of the four chairs...so it may be a while!  The goal is mid March.  We do have a list of spring projects to accomplish, so hopefully I'll be back again soon!
